Phylissa Mitchell is returning to Reid Hall
for the 2012-2013 academic year. Prof. Mitchell has taught in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communications before, in 2001-2002 and 2006-2008. This fall, she will be teaching “Producing for Broadcast and Online News” (Jour 362) and a timely first-year seminar on “The Press and the 2012 Presidential Campaign.”
Prof. Mitchell has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from Washington and Lee. She has more than a decade of broadcast journalism experience at the local and network levels. In addition to W&L, Prof. Mitchell has taught at West Virginia University and the University of Richmond. She was a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine from 2008 to 2010.
