Alums finalists in Gerald Loeb Awards

B_LoebTwo Washington and Lee journalism alums are finalists in the prestigious Gerald A. Loeb competition.  Mary Childs, ’08,  and Mehul Srivastava, ’04, are being recognized for work done in their positions with Bloomberg News. 

Mary, who is based in New York City, was part team that is a finalist in the beat reporting category for “Beached Whale: JPMorgan’s Huge Loss.” 

Mehul was part of a team that is a finalist in the international category for  “Mother India Starves Her Children.”

Winners in the 14 competition categories will be announced June 25 at an event in New York City.

The Gerald Loeb Awards were established in 1957 by the late Gerald Loeb, a founding partner of E.F. Hutton.
